Romanian railway fault halts trains near Reșița and Caransebeș

A fault on the Reșița Nord–Brebu section of Romania’s railway network caused a power outage at 05:45 on Friday, after a break in the contact cable and carrier line was detected near the Brebu station. CFR Infrastructure deployed a pantograph wagon from Caransebeș and repair crews began work to restore the line.

The outage stopped passenger services on Regio trains 9160 and 9163. Train 9160 remained at Reșița Nord, while train 9163 halted at Cornuțel Banat, leaving 26 passengers stranded; they were later transferred by road to their destination. CFR SA apologized for the inconvenience and said the repairs aim to resume safe traffic as quickly as possible.
