Romanian regional councils announce major healthcare infrastructure investments
The Cluj County Council has announced the procurement of medical equipment for the Clinical Recovery Hospital, valued at approximately 7.5 million lei (excluding VAT). This initiative is part of a European-funded project titled ‘Investments in the infrastructure of the Clinical Recovery Hospital Cluj-Napoca’. The acquisition includes 382 electric beds with anti-decubitus mattresses, intensive care unit (ICU) beds, consultation sofas, hydraulic stretchers, and various surgical and transport tools.
In Mehedinți County, the Mehedinți County Council has signed a contract for the design and execution of consolidation works for the former maternity hospital in Drobeta-Turnu Severin. The project, valued at nearly 30 million lei, aims to reduce the building's seismic risk from class II to class IV. This phase covers the entire building from the basement to the fourth floor and includes the construction of a reinforced concrete staircase to meet emergency safety requirements. The long-term goal is to establish a Recovery, Physical Medicine, and Balneology Section within the Drobeta-Turnu Severin Emergency County Hospital.
