Romanian researchers convene for archaeological and art history symposiums

Specialists in archaeology, numismatics, and art history are gathering in Romania for significant scientific symposiums focused on preserving and studying national heritage.

In Târgoviște, the “Archaeological and Numismatic Research” symposium is being held at the Dâmbovița Military Traditions Museum. The event brings together researchers and historians to present recent discoveries and scientific communications. Partners for this edition include the “Vasile Pârvan” Institute of Archaeology of the Romanian Academy and the Numismatic Cabinet of the Romanian Academy Library.

Additionally, the 22nd edition of the scientific communications session, “New Data in the Research of Medieval and Pre-modern Art in Romania,” is organized by the National Museum of Art of Romania and the “George Oprescu” Institute of Art History. This hybrid event explores diverse artistic expressions, ranging from medieval manuscripts and church painting programs to noble architecture and precious treasures. The initiative emphasizes the importance of research in protecting cultural heritage against risks such as conflict, natural disasters, and illicit trafficking.
