Two children injured in Cernavodă highway crash

A serious collision involving three vehicles occurred on the A2 "Sun" Highway near Cernavodă, Constanța County. Nine people were in the cars; a 5‑year‑old girl and a 16‑year‑old boy were among the injured. Both children were conscious when rescued and were taken to a hospital in Cernavodă for treatment.

The accident forced the closure of the highway in the direction of Constanța, creating a traffic jam extending roughly seven kilometres. Police and emergency services are investigating the cause of the crash while traffic is being rerouted and restrictions imposed on the remaining lane.
