Romanian road collisions injure several drivers and a cyclist

A cyclist was struck by a car in Balomiru de Câmp near Cugir, prompting the deployment of a SMURD helicopter for emergency assistance.

On a different incident, police investigations on DN 67D in the village of Pieptâni, Gorj County revealed that a 35‑year‑old driver of a utility vehicle attempted to overtake multiple vehicles and collided with a car whose driver turned left into a fuel station, violating a continuous line. The car driver and a 44‑year‑old female passenger were injured and taken to hospital. Alcohol tests were negative for the utility‑vehicle driver, while the car driver was medically unable to be tested; a blood sample was collected. A criminal case for negligent bodily injury has been opened, and investigations continue to determine the exact cause of the crash.
