Romanian school clean‑up contests engage students in environmental action

In Beiuș, Bihor County, the sixth edition of the "Luna curățeniei" campaign combined the "Bihor Curat" competition for school pupils with the "Mihai Neșu" clean‑cup for junior football clubs. Organized by the Bihor County Council, Ecolect, the County School Inspectorate and the County Football Association, pupils from the Ioan Ciordaș Technical College participated in a recycling relay on the school’s sports field and subsequently cleaned a nearby park, measuring ornamental tree diameters as part of their activity.

In Luduș, Mureș County, the inter‑county "Împreună pentru o planetă zâmbitoare" contest was held at the Căsuța Fermecată kindergarten. Preschoolers from Harghita, Cluj, Sălaj and Mureș counties took part, supervised by early‑education inspector Prof. Kovács Júlia and a team of teachers. The event, supported by local sponsors, aimed to raise ecological awareness among young children and their families.
