Romanian schools advised to establish emergency shelters

The Department for Emergency Situations has issued a guide for schools to establish shelters in response to potential drone strikes and other emergencies. Under the guidance of Raed Arafat, school directors are advised to identify safe spaces such as equipped basements or rooms without windows to protect students and staff.

Procedures for responding to RO-ALERT messages include immediately stopping classes, bringing children inside from playgrounds, and keeping students away from doors and glass walls. While some institutions have prepared specialized shelters with ventilation, water stocks, and emergency kits, concerns remain regarding overcrowded public schools in large cities that may lack compliant spaces.
