Romanian spa resorts undergo cultural and infrastructural updates

Romanian spa resorts are undergoing various cultural and infrastructural developments. Through the ‘Sleeping Beauties’ international program, organized by EUNIC Romania in collaboration with several cultural institutions—including the British Council, Goethe-Institut, and Instituto Cervantes—artistic residencies are being held in six locations: Amara, Govora, Băile Herculane, Eforie, Borsec, and Techirghiol.

In Băile Olănești, the summer tourism season is reaching its peak. Local authorities are working on infrastructure improvements, including the consolidation of the Forestierilor road and the rehabilitation of the road toward Muereasca to better connect Călimănești and Olănești. Mayor Sorin Vasilache noted that new hotel structures and hiking areas are helping to rebalance tourist numbers following the pandemic.
