Romanian sports update: Jigău wins weightlifting Cup and football groups announced

In weightlifting, Daniel Jigău won the U23 Romanian Cup in the 65 kg category at the AMEFA Complex in Arad, achieving a total of 250 kg. Other notable performances from the CSM Arad delegation included Natalia Varga and Alexandru Pițucă, who both secured third-place finishes in their respective categories.

In football, the Romanian Football Federation has announced the group compositions for the Romanian Cup. Corvinul Hunedoara and Minerul Lupeni have both been placed in Group A alongside Rapid, UTA, FC Botoșani, and Poli Timișoara. Although they are in the same group, regulations ensure the two teams from Hunedoara county will not face each other during this stage.
