Romanian striker Rareș Burnete loaned to Italy's FC Sudtirol

Romanian U‑21 international forward Rareș Burnete, who is under contract with Serie A side US Lecce until 2029, has been sent on loan to Serie B club FC Sudtirol until 30 June 2027. The agreement includes an option for Sudtirol to purchase the player and a buy‑back clause for Lecce. Burnete previously spent the 2025‑26 season on loan at Juve Stabia, where he appeared in 27 matches and scored two goals, helping the club avoid relegation after a playoff with Bari.

Burnete rejected offers to return to Romania’s Superliga, stating his aim is to prove himself in Italy and eventually play in Serie A. He also expressed hopes of earning a call‑up to the senior Romania national team, adding that “I am convinced this is the right step for my career.”
