Romania and Moldova students medal at International AI Olympiad

Students from Romania and the Republic of Moldova achieved significant success at the International Olympiad in Artificial Intelligence (IOAI 2026) held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from August 2 to August 8.

The Romanian delegation secured eight medals in total: three gold, two silver, and three bronze. Gold medalists included David Georgescu, Alexandru Thury-Burileanu, and Roland Petrean. Silver medals were awarded to Mihnea-Teodor Stoica and Darius-Adrian Dobre, while Iulian Nistor, Daniel-Antoniu Bence-Muk, and Matei-Tudor Pop earned bronze.
