Romanian SuperLiga clubs secure striker signings of Markovic and Lukic

FC Botoșani officially presented Serbian striker Jovan Marković on 16 July, confirming his transfer after a medical assessment resolved a lingering muscle hematoma. Marković said he is not yet at 100 % fitness but can contribute 60–70 minutes per game and hopes to debut in the second league round against Rapid. Coach Marius Croitoru expressed confidence in the player’s fit with the team’s offensive style.

Universitatea Cluj forward Jovo Lukić, the league’s top scorer last season and recent Bosnia‑Herzegovina World Cup goal‑scorer, remains with the club after several offers were deemed financially unsatisfactory. President Radu Constanță indicated there are “high chances” Lukić will stay for another season, though his participation in the upcoming match against Dinamo Kyiv is still uncertain.
