Romanian Tax Authority Urges Fiscal Declaration for Overseas Income in 2025
The National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF) has reminded Romanian taxpayers who earned income abroad in 2025 that they must promptly update their tax declarations. Failure to report foreign earnings may result in subsequent notifications and possible assessment of taxes by the authority. ANAF advises individuals to verify pre‑filled tax forms, submit corrected returns online via the private virtual space or at local offices, and, if necessary, file a rectifying declaration. The agency stresses that responsibility for reporting remains with the taxpayer regardless of whether the foreign income data are automatically transmitted, and it encourages the use of digital channels for the quickest processing.
