Romanian tourists face varied costs: cheap Black Sea stays and moderate meals in Greece

The Romanian tourism association FPTR’s “Litoralul pentru toţi” programme, now in its 48th edition, offers accommodation on the Black Sea coast at rates starting from 42 lei per person per night (about €2) without meals, with higher prices for breakfast or all‑inclusive packages. Hotels in Eforie Nord, Neptun‑Olimp and Eforie Sud are among the participants, and the programme claims its rates are cheaper than comparable offers in Bulgaria, Greece or Turkey.

At the same time, a group of five Romanian travellers posted a bill from Taverna Sakis in Skala Rachoni, Thassos, Greece, showing a total charge of €118 (roughly 23‑24 € per person) for a meal that included fish, seafood, side dishes, skordalia, dessert, wine and beer. The diners described the food as “very good” despite the cost, noting that the price was higher than typical meals in Romania but still affordable for a holiday abroad.
