Romanian towns launch free e‑waste and bulky‑waste collection drives

The municipality of Pitești announced a second 2026 campaign to collect bulky waste and electronic and electrical equipment free of charge. The drive runs from Thursday 25 June at 14:00 to Friday 26 June at 13:00 at eight designated points across the city, accepting items such as furniture, appliances, computers and other household electronics. Residents may also request home collection for certain items by calling a dedicated number.

In the town of Șomcuta Mare, local authorities together with The Green Project and ADI Deșeuri Maramureș will hold a two‑day e‑waste collection on 26‑27 June 2026. Mobile teams will travel to the town and neighboring villages to collect appliances, batteries, bulbs and small electronics, offering a chance to win household gadgets. Home‑pickup appointments can be arranged via phone or an online form.
