Romania academic institutions launch 2026–2027 academic year
Various academic and religious institutions across Romania are marking the commencement of the 2026–2027 academic year and significant anniversaries.
Universities such as TUIASI in Iași are holding public ceremonies, including one at Grădină Palas, while UMF Grigore T. Popa in Iași welcomed 2,000 new students. The University of Craiova is celebrating its 80th anniversary alongside the new academic start. In Timișoara, UMF Victor Babeș has transitioned to a new, modern campus in Ghiroda, a 160-million-lei investment. Other institutions, including the University of West Vasile Goldiș in Arad, the European University Drăgan in Lugoj, and USAMV Bucharest, have also held official opening festivities.
Religious and theological institutions are also active, with the Neamț Monastery hosting a 20-year reunion for its 2001–2006 theological seminary graduates, and the Greco-Catholic Diocese of Oradea electing new leadership for its AGRU association.
