Romanian universities launch 2026–2027 academic year

Universities in Romania have commenced the 2026–2027 academic year. At the UMFST ‘George Emil Palade’ Bistrița Extension, over 420 students began courses in General Medical Assistance, Dental Technique, Pharmacy Assistance, and a newly introduced Law program.

In Iași, the ‘Ion Ionescu de la Brad’ University of Life Sciences (USV) became the first in the country to open the new academic year. More than 4,000 students are participating in the festivities, which include an awards ceremony for academic excellence. Special prizes of 1,000 euros each were awarded to students Gabriel Sebastian Vicol and Ștefania Lefter following testamentary donations from prominent figures in agronomic education.
