Romanian universities mark start of new academic year

Several Romanian academic institutions have marked the start of the new university year. At the University of Petroșani, the 78th generation of students began their studies on International Day of Education. The opening ceremony featured local administrative and business leaders, including the Prefect of Hunedoara and the Mayor of Petroșani.

In Ploiești, the Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy extension inaugurated its new headquarters, officially named the ‘Thoma Ionescu Ploiești’ extension. The facility currently serves 233 students in programs such as General Medical Assistance and Balneo-physio-kinesitherapy and Recovery. Future plans include expanding the curriculum to include Dietetics and Laboratory sciences, with the long-term goal of establishing a full Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in the region.
