Romanian utilities schedule power outages in Bucharest, Giurgiu, Ilfov and road works in Sibiu
Rețele Electrice România announced that scheduled electricity interruptions will take place in Bucharest, Giurgiu and Ilfov from 6 July to 10 July. The outages, timed between 09:00 and 17:00 each day, are required for maintenance and modernization of the electric network. Affected streets in each sector are listed, and the company said the interruptions have been minimized where possible.
In Sibiu, the municipal traffic commission approved a series of utility modernization projects that will affect road traffic from July through September. The most significant restriction is the full closure of Cibinului Street between Târgu Fânului and Turnului until 30 September for water‑network upgrades. Additional works include temporary lane changes and closures at major intersections on General Magheru, Constituției, Corneliu Coposu, Fabricii, Petrila, and others. Parallel projects on the electric grid (Oslo Street, Bahluiului Street) and a gas‑line installation on Viilor Street are also scheduled, with alternative routes and traffic pilots provided. Authorities advise drivers to plan trips in advance and use designated detours.
