Romanian villages host folk festival in Șieu and 270‑year church anniversary in Hudești

The community of Șieu in Maramureș will stage the folk‑festival competition “Mândru‑i jocu’ prin Șieu” on 26 July 2026. In Hudești, Botoșani County, 30 July 2026 marks the 270th anniversary of the cornerstone‑laying of the Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel. The celebration begins with a divine liturgy, followed by a ceremony attended by Orthodox hierarchs, scholars, and the Romanian Consul General in Cernăuți, highlighting recent restoration work and the church’s historic role in the community.
