Romanian water utilities suspend supply and deploy emergency teams amid weather alerts

Aquabis announced a temporary interruption of drinking‑water service on 4 July 2026 to repair a pipe failure. In Piatra the supply was halted from 12:00‑16:00, while in Uriu, Ilișua and Cristeștii Ciceului the outage lasted from 15:00‑18:00. The company said an intervention team was on site and warned customers that water quality could be affected, urging them to run the tap for a few minutes before use. Aquabis apologized for the inconvenience.

The Romanian water‑sewerage operator RAJA extended its Emergency Command for Weather‑Related Situations until 6 July 2026, 16:00. Twenty‑seven response teams equipped with special vehicles, vacuum trucks and high‑capacity pumps are active, with 12 teams covering Constanța and the remaining teams serving other municipalities in its area. The command monitors vulnerable zones, ensures safe operation of water and sewerage systems, and asks users to report any service problems to its dispatch centre.
