Romanian workers challenge benefit discrimination and disability allowance errors

The Liber RETIM trade union alleges that the waste‑management firm RETIM denied holiday bonuses to employees on fixed‑term contracts, describing the practice as illegal discrimination and announcing complaints to the Labour Inspection and legal action.

Separately, legal expert Nicolae Enciu explains that public‑sector employees with severe or accentuated disabilities may be entitled to a recalculated 15% disability allowance, as the current flat‑rate payments often ignore salary increases, contrary to the provisions of Law 153/2017 and subsequent regulations.
