Romanian Youth Drowns in Austria's Lake Längsee

A 22‑year‑old Romanian man from Nepos, who lived with his family in St. Veit an der Glan, Austria, died after fainting while swimming with a 17‑year‑old friend in Lake Längsee, Carinthia. The pair were trying to reach a small artificial island when the young man suddenly lost consciousness and sank.

Volunteer firefighters, divers and a rescue helicopter from the Austrian Interior Ministry conducted a search, locating his body about 40 minutes later at a depth of roughly 14 metres.
