Romanian Youth Music Festivals Announce 2026 Competitions

Registrations have opened for the 12th edition of the Festival‑Concurs Național "Ion Dolănescu" in Târgoviște, scheduled for 16–18 September 2026. The contest, organized by the Dâmbovița County Council and the Ion Dolănescu Cultural Foundation, invites amateur solo vocalists aged 16‑30 from Romania and abroad. Participants must submit a video of an unaccompanied song for pre‑selection. Prize money totals 15 000 lei, with the top trophy worth 5 000 lei.

The XXXII edition of the national “Muzritm” festival for children and adolescents took place on 21‑22 July 2026 in Vatra Dornei, Suceava County. Hosted by the Clubul Copiilor Vatra Dornei and the "Plaiuri Bucovinene" association, the event featured soloists and groups from across Romania performing light and folk music. Winners received first‑, second‑ and third‑place awards in various age categories, as judged by a panel of music educators and university officials.
