Romania's 2026 Bacalaureat promotion rates climb after contestations

After the contestation period, the Ministry of Education published the final results of the 2026 Bacalaureat. The national promotion rate rose to 76.9%, with 97,020 candidates passing the exam. County‑level data show notable increases: Bihor reached 81.03% (up from 79.37%), Iași 82.6% (up 1.53 points), Argeș 78.97% (up from 77.01%), Olt 68.68% (up 2.69 points), Suceava 77.8% (above the national average), Vrancea 74.82%, Vaslui 76.4%, Timiș 73.2%, Dolj 76.3% (promo current 80%), and Bistrița‑Năsăud 76.9%. The number of perfect scores (10) also grew, with 70 candidates nationwide, including four in Suceava and additional top scores in several counties. Military national colleges reported very high promotion rates, ranging from 96.76% to 100%. The results are now definitive and will be used for issuing diplomas and for university admissions.
