Romania's ANSVSA recalls Orlando golden raisins from Profi supermarkets over pesticide levels

The National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) issued a food‑safety alert after laboratory tests found pesticide residues in the Orlando golden raisins (Maestro brand) that exceeded the legal limit. The product, a 100 g pack imported from Syria by Orlando Import Export, is identified by lot L 2004 268 and has a best‑before date of 30 April 2027.

ANSVSA ordered the immediate withdrawal of the affected lot from all Profi retail outlets across Romania, including stores in Dâmbovița County. Consumers who purchased the raisins are advised not to eat them. The product can be returned to any Profi store until 10 August 2026, and the purchase price will be refunded without requiring a receipt. The recall aims to prevent any health risk from the contaminated product.

The agency has published the list of affected stores and detailed information on its website, urging the public to check whether they have the recalled lot in their homes.
