Romania's Bacalaureat 2026 Autumn Session Starts with 33,000 Candidates

More than 33,000 candidates began the autumn session of the national Bacalaureat exam on 10 August 2026. The Ministry of Education released the full calendar: Romanian language and literature on 10 August, the mandatory profile test on 11 August, the elective profile and specialization test on 12 August, and mother‑tongue language on 13 August. First results are due on 18 August, with final scores published on 24 August.

The exam is held in 124 centres nationwide. In Sibiu County alone, 630 candidates will sit the tests at three locations – Liceul Teoretic “Onisifor Ghibu”, Colegiul Național “Octavian Goga”, and Colegiul “Școala Națională de Gaz” in Mediaș. Candidates may view their papers and file electronic or in‑person appeals between 14:00 and 18:00 on 18 August and on 19–20 August, with a signed declaration required for any contestation. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian during the appeal process.
