Romania's cycling tours showcase regional tourism from Moldova to Oltenia

The 2026 edition of the Turul României cycling race, organized by the Romanian Cycling Federation, the National Sports Agency and Auchan România, will run from 9 to 13 September. The five‑stage, 800‑km route starts in Chișinău, Moldova, and finishes in Bucharest, passing through Iași, Piatra Neamț and the Carpathian terrain of Băile Balvanyos, while highlighting 30 cultural, gastronomic and natural attractions along the way.

Separately, the Geopark Oltenia de sub Munte launched the "Drumul dintre Sate" thematic trail in the Râmnicu Valcea region. Developed with partners Horses Nest, Cerdacul din Livada and BRD Groupe Société Générale, the trail links the villages of Vaideeni and Urșani for a 2‑3‑hour hike through orchards, forests and traditional landscapes, promoting the area's natural and cultural heritage.

Both initiatives aim to boost domestic and cross‑border tourism by combining sport with regional promotion.
