Romania 2026 Teacher Titularisation Results Rise After Contestations

The Romanian Ministry of Education and Research released the final results of the national 2026 teacher titularisation contest after processing all candidate appeals. Public allocation sessions are scheduled for 5‑6 August, with updated vacancy lists to be posted on 7 August.

In Brașov County, only one candidate achieved a perfect score of 10, but no vacant permanent post exists for that discipline. Over 660 candidates earned scores above 7, qualifying them for indefinite contracts if vacancies are available. Sibiu County saw the percentage of candidates scoring at least 7 rise to 54 %, an increase of 3.54 points after 235 appeals were reviewed, allowing 525 teachers to be allocated to permanent positions. Timiș County reported that 753 of 1 484 examined works (50.74 %) met the 7‑point threshold, raising the promotion rate by more than four points compared with the initial tally.

Across the country, a score of 7 remains the minimum for a permanent (titular) appointment, while a score of 5 suffices for temporary (substitute) contracts. The contest results affect hundreds of teachers seeking stable employment in pre‑university schools.
