Frosinone targets Austrian duo Schmid and Grillitsch

Serie A newcomers Frosinone Calcio are in advanced negotiations to sign Austrian international duo Romano Schmid and Florian Grillitsch. The double transfer signals a shift in the club's strategy following a recent change in ownership.

Frosinone is reportedly prepared to pay approximately €8 million to Werder Bremen for the 26-year-old attacking midfielder Romano Schmid. Schmid, who has significant Bundesliga experience, is seen as a key creative piece for the club's project.

Additionally, the club is targeting Florian Grillitsch, who is currently a free agent after his tenure at Braga. The 31-year-old veteran brings extensive international experience and tactical intelligence to the midfield.

These moves are backed by the recent acquisition of an 80% stake in Frosinone by the US-based investment fund Clara Vista Investment Partners. The new ownership aims to strengthen the squad and improve infrastructure to secure the club's permanence in Italy's top flight.
