Rome approves urban planning updates and Foro Italico cultural project

The Rome Capitale Assembly has approved updates to the Technical Implementation Norms (NTA) of the General Regulatory Plan (PRG). These updates aim to modernize the 2008 urban framework by introducing greater flexibility in land use, simplifying administrative procedures, and encouraging urban regeneration and the reuse of existing buildings to reduce soil consumption.

Additionally, the Assembly approved a regeneration project for the former Civis complex within the Foro Italico area. Promoted by Sport e Salute S.p.A., the intervention involves the restructuring of Building B to create a new 650-square-meter underground public cultural facility. This space will expand the Officina delle Arti Pier Paolo Pasolini, providing multifunctional areas for artistic and theatrical activities, including dressing rooms, a control booth, and a foyer. The project includes expanded provisions for public greenery and parking compared to standard requirements, while maintaining the area's designated urban function.
