Italy implements new school safety and crime prevention measures
Italian authorities and educational institutions are implementing new strategies to enhance school safety and combat youth delinquency. In Rome, following a recent incident where a student attacked a teacher, officials have announced plans for random security checks in schools and increased monitoring of online content to intercept potential threats.
Various regional initiatives are also underway to foster legality and prevent issues such as bullying, cyberbullying, and substance abuse. In Ancona, the State Police have launched the fifth edition of a prevention campaign for students. Similarly, in Monza, a new protocol titled ‘Promossi in sicurezza’ has been signed between schools, law enforcement, and health services to create direct communication channels for reporting risks.
In a separate incident in the province of Lecce, a six-year-old student was found to have a kitchen knife in his backpack. Local authorities and social services are investigating the circumstances of the event to ensure the safety of all minors involved.
