AS Roma supporters banned for fascist salutes

Rome police have issued stadium bans to 16 AS Roma supporters following extremist displays during a Serie A match against Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico. The individuals, aged between 19 and 42, were identified after performing fascist salutes and wearing t-shirts with the Nazi-linked slogan “uber alles” in the Curva Sud section.

The bans, ranging from one to five years, apply to all sporting venues across Italy and extend to international matches involving AS Roma and the Italian national team. Four of the sanctioned individuals face additional restrictions, including mandatory reporting to local police stations before, during, and after club matches.

Authorities applied the sanctions under the Mancino Law, which targets hate speech and racial or religious discrimination. Investigations revealed that several of the identified supporters had prior criminal records involving weapons possession, threats, and public disorder.
