Rome authorities prepare for protests and military workshop on drone technology

Authorities in Rome are preparing for a series of demonstrations scheduled for tomorrow. A technical meeting led by the Rome Police Commissioner involved various law enforcement agencies and municipal entities, including Ama S.p.A. and Atac. The planned activities include a parade organized by the USB union in conjunction with a national strike, which is expected to overlap with the inaugural ceremony of the Security Village at Circo Massimo. Officials noted that the union's march is the result of ongoing dialogue and mediation aimed at ensuring public order while respecting the right to protest.

Separately, the Italian Army held a workshop at the ‘Giuseppe Perotti’ barracks in Rome focused on the use of drones in modern operational scenarios. Army Chief of Staff General Carmine Masiello emphasized the decisive role of unmanned systems and the need to integrate drone technology into the military's operational culture. The event addressed the deployment of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), counter-UAS technologies, and the evolving threats demonstrated in recent conflicts, highlighting the necessity of synergy between military institutions, research, and industry.
