Rome Council Appoints Valeria Baglio as New Commerce Assessor

The Rome City Council approved a reshuffle of the Democratic Party group, appointing former councilor Valeria Baglio as the new assessor for commerce, production activities, and investment attraction. Former group leader Baglio stepped down after the resignation of Monica Lucarelli and was praised by Mayor Roberto Gualtieri, who also added a new delegation for coordination of the historic centre.

In the same session, former opposition councillor Rocco Stelitano was elected to the Assembly with 29 votes, succeeding Valeria Baglio as the party’s representative. The proceedings were marked by a standing ovation from council members and the public.

Baglio thanked both the majority and the opposition for their cooperation, emphasizing institutional loyalty and personal respect within the Assembly. Gualtieri highlighted Baglio’s familiarity with the city and the importance of strengthening links between Rome Capital and Municipio I.
