Festa del Cinema di Roma 2026 begins with international stars
The 21st edition of the Festa del Cinema di Roma is underway in Rome, running from October 13 to 25, 2026. Centered at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone, the festival features international stars including Javier Bardem, who will receive a Career Award, and Julianne Moore.
The event is inaugurated with the film ‘Il rumore delle cose nuove’ by Paolo Genovese, a choral drama exploring complex human relationships. Other notable programming includes the ‘Alice nella Città’ festival and the 5th Bolognini Prize, which celebrates Italian cinematic heritage.
To support attendees, Rome has implemented the ‘Linea Cinema,’ a free bus service connecting major hubs like Termini Station and the Auditorium. The festival also includes various cultural side events, such as the ‘Proiezioni 2026’ series exploring the relationship between cinema and urban landscapes, and the ‘I Mille Volti dell’Acqua’ contest sponsored by Acea.
