Rome Film Festival presents 'Vite in campo' documentary

The documentary 'Vite in campo', directed by Donatella Romani and Roberto Amato, was presented at the 21st Rome Film Festival. The film uses sports as a metaphor to illustrate that medical care and recovery are collective efforts involving clinical expertise, family relationships, and community support.

Through the stories of four individuals—Roberta, Martina, Oussama, and Paula—the film explores diverse medical journeys, including kidney transplants, premature birth, alpha-mannosidosis, and Leber hereditary optic neuropathy. The project features appearances by tennis player Tathiana Garbin and actor Roberto Farnesi.

Produced with non-conditional support from Chiesi Italia, the film aims to highlight the necessity of integrated healthcare paths, including timely diagnoses, access to specialized centers, and psychological support for families. The screening at the Auditorium Parco della Musica served as a forum for patients, caregivers, and clinicians to discuss improving continuity between hospitals and local healthcare services.
