Rome hosts Comunicare l’Abitare forum on housing quality and accessibility
The fourth edition of the Comunicare l’Abitare think tank recently concluded in Rome at the Casa dell’Architettura. Promoted by Casa Radio, the event brought together institutions, professional orders, associations, and businesses to discuss the evolution of housing, urban regeneration, and digital innovation.
A 2026 survey presented during the forum highlighted key challenges: 62.9% of respondents felt housing professional competencies were poorly understood, 46.2% rated the cost sustainability of housing for average families as low, and 56.5% expressed a willingness to pay more for homes certified as healthy, efficient, and safe.
Participants discussed topics including indoor air quality, mold, radon, and water quality. The forum also introduced a theatrical project, ‘La Casa Cambia’, designed by Enea researcher Antonio Disi to raise public awareness regarding property requalification. The event concluded with the announcement of an ‘Agenda for Living’, intended to provide policy proposals to legislators throughout 2027. The fifth edition is scheduled for October 2027.
