Rome, Georgia seeks artists for 3rd Annual Plein Air Showcase

The Rome Office of Tourism is inviting artists to participate in the 3rd Annual Plein Air Showcase of Georgia’s Rome. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will take place in downtown Rome during the Fiddlin’ Fest.

Artists of all skill levels, including high school students and beginners, are encouraged to compete. Participants will paint outdoors using oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, or pastel to capture local landmarks, historic buildings, and green spaces. Completed works must be submitted the same day for judging.

Sponsored by the Rome Area Council for the Arts (RACA), the competition offers various cash prizes, including awards for first, second, and third place, as well as specific recognitions for beginner artists. Additionally, participants can sell their finished pieces at a Wet Paint Sale, where artists retain 100% of the proceeds.
