Rome holds funeral for Luigi Cavallari, husband of Minister Roccella

Funeral services were held in Rome for Luigi Cavallari, the husband of Italian Minister for the Family Eugenia Roccella. Cavallari disappeared on June 27 after diving from a boat into Lake Vico; his body was recovered on August 4. The private ceremony at the church of San Lorenzo in Lucina was attended by several government officials, including Undersecretary Alfredo Mantovano and Minister Carlo Nordio.

The case has drawn comparisons to the disappearance of Martina Lattuca, a 49-year-old bookseller who went missing in Cagliari in November. Lattuca's sister, Sara Lattuca, has criticized the disparity in search efforts, noting that while the search for Cavallari lasted 37 days, her sister was only searched for three days before operations were halted. Martina Lattuca's car was found in Calamosca, and while personal items were recovered near the cliffs, her body has not been found.
