Rome hosts climate resilience and sustainable mobility initiatives
Rome is hosting several initiatives focused on urban resilience and environmental sustainability. The ‘Climate Walk,’ organized by the European Climate Pact, utilized the Tiber River as a practical observation point for citizens to study urban greening, biodiversity, and climate mitigation strategies. This initiative aligns with the European Union’s mission to establish 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030, a goal to which Rome is a participant.
Additionally, the ECO Festival of Sustainable Mobility and Smart Cities is scheduled for September 15 and 16 at the Piazza di Spagna Congress Center. Held during European Mobility Week, the festival brings together institutions, researchers, and businesses to discuss the future of urban movement. Key topics include electric mobility, integrated transport, artificial intelligence in transit, and the relationship between urban space and environmental challenges.
