Rome hosts exhibition honoring photographer Carlo Riccardi
The city of Rome is hosting an anthology exhibition titled “Riccardi 100. Verso l’umano” at the WEGIL space in Trastevere to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Carlo Riccardi (1926–2022). The exhibition, running from November 3 to November 29, 2026, showcases the legacy of the renowned photographer, photojournalist, and painter.
The collection draws from the Riccardi Archive, which contains three million negatives documenting over seventy years of Italian history. The thematic exhibition covers pivotal 20th-century moments, including post-war reconstruction, the Dolce Vita era on Via Veneto, Cinecittà cinema, and various social and labor movements. In addition to photography, the exhibition highlights Riccardi’s work as a painter.
