Rome hosts free outdoor tango and opera events
Rome is hosting several free outdoor cultural events throughout the summer and autumn. On August 25, Parco Schuster will host “Le Voci del Tango – Roma incontra Buenos Aires,” a five-hour event featuring live tango music and four international singers from Italy and Argentina. The evening is designed as an open-air milonga where the public is invited to dance.
Additionally, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma will launch the “OperaCamion” project from September 12 to 20, 2026. This itinerant production uses a truck converted into a stage to perform Rossini’s “The Barber of Seville” across six different neighborhoods, including Casalotti, Monte Cucco, Cesano, Torrino-Decima, Villaggio Olimpico, and Cinecittà Est. The performances blend opera with circus, street theater, and comedy, and are free to the public.
