Rome hosts free summer cinema arena series across city parks

From 22 July to 31 July the Fondazione Cinema per Roma will run the first edition of the Arena di Tor Marancia in the Tenuta di Tor Marancia, offering nightly free screenings at 21:15. The arena is part of the “Vivi il Cinema!” programme of Estate Romana 2026, which also includes the Roma Cinema Arena at Parco degli Acquedotti and arenas in Corviale and Santa Maria della Pietà. The opening film is the anti‑war feature “Mr. Nobody Against Putin”.

At the same time, the Altre Visioni festival will take place in Rome’s Parco Nemorense from 21 July to 9 August, also free to the public. The programme highlights two Swiss co‑productions: the Peruvian‑Swiss drama Reinas on 22 July at 21:00 and the stop‑motion animation Manodopera on 2 August at 21:00, the latter a multi‑national (Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Portugal) project about early‑1900s emigration.
