Rome hosts Mediterranean diplomatic and business dialogues

Rome is hosting various diplomatic and business initiatives aimed at strengthening economic ties across the Mediterranean region. The “Il Campidoglio incontra il Mediterraneo” event, scheduled for September 28, 2026, will bring together delegations from Albania, Croatia, Egypt, Greece, and Tunisia. The dialogue focuses on strategic dossiers including ports, artificial intelligence, agribusiness, and tourism, seeking to position Rome as a central connection platform for Mediterranean markets and expertise.

In a separate diplomatic effort, Noureddin Al-Hadi Al-Megrahi, a candidate for the Libyan government, participated in meetings in Rome focused on Italy-Libya cooperation. These discussions centered on energy transition, ecological sustainability, infrastructure, and industrial development. The meetings emphasized the historical relationship between the two nations and the potential for collaboration in environmental protection and public health research.
