Rome infrastructure concerns spark political criticism of Mayor Gualtieri
In Rome, city councilor Francesco Carpano of Forza Italia has criticized Mayor Roberto Gualtieri regarding the poor state of urban maintenance. The criticism follows reports of dangerous sidewalk conditions in Municipio VIII, specifically on via Carlo Conti Rossini, where a near-accident involving a stroller was noted.
Carpano argued that the central administration fails to provide local municipalities with sufficient resources and decision-making power to address daily infrastructure issues. While the Department of Public Works manages major arteries, Carpano contends that the current system prevents local authorities from effectively managing neighborhood safety and pedestrian paths.
