Rome launches new 252 bus line connecting Metro B to the Great Mosque
Starting Monday, September 14, a new circular bus line, the 252, will begin service in Rome. Designed by Roma Servizi per la Mobilità and operated by Atac, the line connects the Policlinico Metro B and B1 stations to the Great Mosque of Rome and the Italian Cultural Islamic Center.
The approximately 11-kilometer route also serves areas including Villa Ada, Acqua Acetosa, and the Foro Italico sports facilities. The service will run daily from 07:30 to 20:00, with thirteen daily trips and hourly frequency, utilizing smaller 7.5-meter vehicles suitable for narrow streets.
This new line replaces previous deviations of the 52 and 168 bus lines, allowing those routes to return to their original paths. As part of this restructuring, the 168 line will be enhanced, increasing daily trips from 35 to 49 and reducing peak-hour wait times from 24 to 17 minutes to meet rising demand along the Tiburtina–Parioli–Flaminio axis.
