Lazio launches Forum “Le Città della Notte” to coordinate night‑life safety and services in Rome

The President of the Lazio Regional Council, Antonello Aurigemma, presented the new permanent Forum “Le Città della Notte” in Rome at the Ministry of Culture’s Sala Spadolini. The forum will bring together institutions, operators, associations and technical experts to address the full range of night‑time issues – from nightlife safety, transport and health to culture, tourism, commerce and entertainment – and to develop coordinated policies for the region’s nocturnal economy.

Aurigemma stressed that night‑time concerns “have no political colour” and that the forum aims to give a voice to night‑workers, visitors and residents while preventing emergencies. The launch was opened by State Under‑Secretary for Culture Giampiero Cannella and featured comments from UGL Rome secretary Ermenegildo Rossi, who noted the abandonment of the “Mille occhi sulla città” protocol in Rome and called for stronger safety measures. The forum is intended as a lasting platform for dialogue, best‑practice sharing and concrete proposals to improve quality of life after dark across Lazio’s cities.
