Rome man arrested for driving car with counterfeit police equipment

The Guardia di Finanza intercepted a Renault Clio in the eastern district of Rome, specifically in the Villaggio Prenestino/Falcone area, after noticing a blue flashing light on the dashboard.

Upon inspection, officers discovered a second magnetic blue light, a telescopic baton, and a counterfeit metal plate bearing the inscription ‘Polizia Giudiziaria’. The driver, a 55-year-old man with a prior criminal record, reportedly claimed the items were for his own security.

The driver has been reported to the Prosecutor's Office of Rome for the possession of counterfeit identification and the illegal carrying of offensive objects. All seized materials have been processed as criminal evidence.
