Rome: Man attacks roommate with knives during dispute

A 53-year-old man is under investigation after allegedly attacking his 48-year-old Russian roommate with knives in Rome. The incident occurred in an apartment on via Francesco Sivori following a violent argument regarding the use of the kitchen.

The victim sustained multiple wounds to her hands, arms, and left shoulder while attempting to defend herself. She managed to escape the apartment with the help of another roommate and was transported to Policlinico Gemelli in critical condition.

Following the attack, the suspect reportedly cleaned the weapons and barricaded himself in the bathroom, where he attempted to commit suicide by ingesting bleach. Carabinieri officers found the man cooperative upon entering the residence, though he later required medical attention at Policlinico Umberto I after falling ill during transport to the station.
